Now we begin the garbanzo bean/chick pea grind. Slow, weeds, dragging headers, and low yields. But once we wrap up Garbz we are done!!

Thank God leg arms is doing a lot better my heart and prayers go out to me as me being a prior farmer accidents happen all the time when I'll continue to pray for him and all Farmers around the world

    2. Ian Clegg

illegal mod - warranty void! what is the latest with that? i am subscribed to the laptop guy's channel but i find hard to listen to at times and like a rant myself, lol!

    3. trayyzgaming #2

5:52. Millennial farmer has a wind system that's kind of that's what you're going to need

    4. 9856CB

Don’t you wish they made a cheap five dollar garb vacuum that you could put behind your harvester and it would vacuum and separate all the garbs

    5. iBelieve

      Sup

    6. Clinton Emmert

You could tell how the wind was blowing by the flag’s on the grain cart.

    7. Aaron A

      How’s Bucket doing ?

      1. Robert Welker

        He went back to Colorado

    8. S. Ashcraft

Really enjoy the harvest tutorials. Great info. So much to focus on. You did good on the replacement part.

    9. Marinus Verwey

Perhaps an Air/Wind System would help the combines to increase the harvest? 😎

    10. Farming Master

Sounds like you need a wind system

    11. PS4 Gaming

Gotta hate weeds, I looked at the weeds like... ahhhhh harvest is ruined. Lost crop. It’ll probably yield some, but lose some profit. I ain’t a farmer, I grew up on farms, but never was involved in machines, our farm was sheep farms, my dad was a shepherd, but it was fun, good times I had with my dad before he passed away in 2017. I miss the farm life. Don’t you spray the crops with herbicide 3x to make sure all weeds are destroyed.

    12. Mimi 2-3

      New subscriber!! God bless y’all!!

      1. Robert Welker

        Bless you, Welcome 👍

    13. brandon Cook

are you going to sometime upgrade your headers to a flex head for your combines cuz it looks like it would help you with the chick peas

    14. bgslade1

you have weeds because of fertility issues. weeds thrive in low Calcium poor fertility

      1. Robert Welker

More about not getting enough rain. Poor crop canopy because of dryness

    15. Zero01k

We had a vibration in our 570r Lexion, tried to make it through the day, counter balance shaft sheared in two. It wasn't pretty.

    16. Mark

garbanzo's are chickpeas not beans right?

      1. Robert Welker

        Yes

    17. Sherry Ross

Awesome channel! Judy would have been proud!!

    18. Kenney 303

You need to invest in an air reel, very good for pulses

    19. Adam Irwin

Would an air reel help blow those pods into the header?

    20. Ray Dowling

does the peas deplete the nitrogen level and if so to what extent? Thanks. I like your videos.

      1. Robert Welker

        No they actually add some

    21. J Miller

So...you need an air system for your combine to? Videos are going great as usual and I'm enjoying it. Have a great harvest!

    22. ausfarmer89

You need light crop fingers on the front to stop the pods falling out the front, they make a huge difference. They are even very handy in light wheat and barley crops.

    23. jj3961261

How about putting a crary wind system on the reel to blow those garbanzo beans into the head and prevent loss.

    24. Jeff

Always remember, God is Good all the time.

    25. Phillip Davis

It would be AWESOME to see your International dump truck restored to match your newest restored diesel tractor.

    26. marpip01

Need a crary air reel !!

    27. Jake Forsgren

Nick, What herbicide do you use to treat your Kochia? We have a bad problem with it in Utah. Have found most of the plants around here have become resistant to certain herbicides so we are seeing no affect.

      1. Robert Welker

In chickpeas after emergence nothing is available. A good crop canopy is effective but you need more rain than we get

    28. AcousticTheory

That's rough about the garbs, man.

    29. Bricky1952

Fix it before you destroy some more. You've got a pretty good machine try to keep it that way.

    30. Bricky1952

You need a wind system for the header. Works good for dry soybeans and your type of grains. Blows the plants and the grains onto the draper belt.

    31. Roger Goodrich

If I had to farm like this???

    32. Cody

Bob, I see you replying one youtube posts a lot. Please get the new shirt idea pushed!

    33. Travis Goff

Nick, if you ever get to Billings, I like to meet you guys

    34. Rebecca Ross

finding a broken piece and making a new one seems fun! Love you guys

    35. Harvey Stokstad

we have that exact same combine

    36. Vinny Pinatelli

Great job getting through all the headaches man

    37. Cheopis

A possible answer to why two fields near one another had such different weed levels. Wind dispersion of seed. If the worse weed field is closer to wild or fallow land, and the wind blows into your fields from that weedy land, you could have a much different weed seed load on two fields right next to each other fairly easily.

    38. S. Pursell

Boy oh boy. Dad sure does screw around an awful lot. More worried about flushing out Thumper than harvesting...... who am I kidding I would have done the same thing for sure with my dog.... nice video gentlemen. Keep safe.

      1. Robert Welker

        😁

    39. Devon Holowaty

We finished Friday at 4am well Saturday at 4 am haha what a grind considering last year it snowed and didn't finish

    40. William Hays

Have you ever eaten a 'Rocky Mountain cottontail'? Lots of them, here in the City of Shelberia. Nice, docile, almost tame bunnies. Haven't seen a Jackrabbit/Snowshoe/Varying hare in quit a while. Bill, 434-2082

      1. Robert Welker

Not answering, Coby might be listening 😁

    41. Daniel kruse

      Forever known as"buckets".

    42. Jonathan Hagen

      Best videos ever thank you

    43. Anthony Morris

Not having your chopper in balance will wreck all your chopper bearings. The best way to test it is to make a mark on your chopper and on side next to the chopper line the marks up and spin it (chopper in neutral) and the chopper should never stop in the exact same spot. If it does your chopper is un balanced

    44. Dan Finley

      Thanks for another great video

    45. Crazy Dirt

      Yes! It must be Buckets!

    46. J L

Sorry about the garbanzo yields. Hopefully next year!

    47. 1murder99

You haven't lived until you have scooped up a skunk with the header and it clogs the cylinder.

    48. Verlyn Nygaard

    53. R B

Wondering if you have state extension service that could be a useful resource on reducing your weed pressure on the chick peas?

      1. Robert Welker

It got dry in July which stopped the chickpeas developing crop canopy and kochia loves opportunity to grow at those times

    54. Verlyn Nygaard

HOLLYWOOD BEING IN SCOTT LEG ARMS FAB / WELD SHOP HAS THIS BEEN PRE APPROVED BY SCOTT LEG ARMS FATHER BOB COLBY

Love the video keep up the great work

    59. Isaac Rummell

Do you guys do a fall spray pass

      1. Robert Welker

We do when we get rain in the fall

    60. Paul S

Your former CRP ground has built up a large amount of weed seed in the seed bank. It will take some years to control the seed bank in the former CRP ground.

    61. Tinker Tomm

      I vote Buckets!!!!

    62. Satnam Bawa

Looking nice without cap. Cap is dangerous for your hair .......Free advice

    63. Ky McFarlin

U should try aggressive cut Macdon sickle blades u won't break as many as case blades they last longer made out of better metal

      1. Robert Welker

There are some on and we like the durability but they tend to jamb the sickel more in tough vine or weedy conditions

    64. logpile13

I saw a can of garbanzo beans at the store the other day and it said chick peas underneath and thought of you guys

    65. Pierre LESTRADE

bonjour.depuis que j'ai la possibilliter de traduire,en francais, je vous compremd , bien mieux. ses gentil de votre part. je vous en remercie. belle video. pierre. congratulations.

    66. 9856CB

It would be good to see the actual mechanism that does the de-slug’n

      1. Robert Welker

        Here is a animation: kgup.info/get/Y2R9k6fMZqaLeGo/video

    67. Braden teeters

Why don’t you grow barley instead of chick peas

      1. Robert Welker

        Barley market sucks.

    68. Farmer George

At least they got rid of those rivets to hold the cutter bar knives in place. What an idea!

    69. Lony Jensen

Where is your battery operated tools for working on that sickel? Besides quicker its safer. Don't slip with ratchet and loose some hide. Good videos anyway. Keep up good work.

    70. boomerang379

Y’all need an ag pilot in Shelby. Spray some sodium chlorate with an airplane and wait three days.... then git-r-done

      1. Marcus Koone

Its so fun watching ag pilots fly.

    71. Michael Vogel

Just cut all the clean areas in the fields and then go back and do the weedy part, get your good crop off

    72. G&E Farms Emery

Fall burn down after you combined could help???

    73. Quincy Venable

Do u guys have a snap chat

    74. Aciz983

OH, I feel so sorry for Cody, missed the RABBIT it was soooo close. He will get it the next time...GO CODY...

    75. B C

LOL, organic farming is easy. Plant seed, water, harvest. Just added another 80 acres to the organic non-GMO farm. Probably spending less money and making more money compared to a non-organic farm.

      1. B C

@Robert Welker That's a shame. We're only allowed 2 acre feet of water per year which is about 1800 gallons a day but we make it work since buying ag water rights is so hard out here.

      2. Robert Welker

Some of our organic growers are going broke or reverting back. Can't do it well in dry conditions.

    76. samelewis

"Buckets" it is. You don't get to pick your nickname.

    77. -DNA- ROBOTRON

Thank you Nick for shifting the mic, working on the sharp voice situation. It is much better :)

    78. UncleManuel

I always hear "International dumb truck"... 😄😜

    79. Dodgymon

We have always had better success with an air front for low lying chick peas

    80. Jeffrey Broadbent

On our legume crops we put wide extender fingers on and that reduces the loss out of the front. We have done that with lupins and this year we will do the same when we harvest chickpeas for the first time.

    81. Edward Mandel

The belt drive don’t plug nick ,I run 680s never plugged them before but don’t ask about the rethresher in green Kochia

      1. Edward Mandel

Robert Welker they’ll have to get the x 9 lol

      2. Robert Welker

Well we have neighbors who have plugged theirs and they envy the de slugger. And a custom cutter who has 4 machines when through 5 belts.

    82. Steven Start

They seem a bit fiddly to grow but the key number is what are they worth compared to yellow peas.👍🇦🇺

      1. Robert Welker

        Verdict still out yet.

    83. joel durheim

Should only take 15 minutes to change a chopper knife. Keep some knives and the bolts behind your seat.

    84. faceman5050

Put the rocks in that alkaline bottom

    85. tobimobiv1

      And Buckets was his namo.

    86. Barbara Stedillie

I don’t want to watch your screen when you’re trying to clear out your machine...I want to watch what the machine is doing!!!!

    87. Del Bennett

When you pointed out the storm edge whilst cutting, how far away do you reckon that was?

    88. Ivan Brennand

Just like to say love this family That is why it was sad to c them flying a American first flag Its great to support your own country but not at the expense of others Do you not realise you are watched from around the world ( Iam in England) When you become political it ruins the fun of the channel Sorry to be a buzz kill but it really bothered me!

      1. Ivan Brennand

Let’s agree to disagree life’s to short

      2. Robert Welker

We love farmers all around the world and support their own patriotisms. US is not perfect but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Love the freedoms we have. The world would be vastly different if not for the USA. Have we been wrong? Yes but you wouldn't be free if US would have stayed out of WW1 and WW2. Our current President is getting us out of conflicts which we should have stay out of.

    89. adrian nicholson

I know what you need to help out with the chickpeas you need hens

    90. Tony Mckeage

Great Vlog Good to see the the end of Harvest in sight. Shame about the rocks Thanks

    91. Redneck Acres 77

      Holy buckets, buckets. 😂

    92. Kevin Keim

Wouldn't a wheat header stripper be more efficient for water retention? m.kgup.info/get/qJCji4POdm18d4s/video

      1. Kevin Keim

@Robert Welker well at makes sense. Thanks Never heard it explained that way.

      2. Robert Welker

They don't work as well with pulse crops. Shatters before it's caught and lots of splits.

    93. peter penberthy

To bad you couldn't sell those weeds to the Greenies for Carbon offsets!

    94. MakingTechSense

That was great that Buckets helped you. ;-)

    95. alberta farmer

You need deslug because you are hydrualic drive, a belt on the rotor that is properley adjusted has more torque and you will not plug the machine we have never plug our deere's is will stall the engine first.YOU NEED A AIR REEL, and a flex head if you wanna grow chickpeas or lentils and not have header loss.

      1. Robert Welker

Well we talked to a custom cutter who had 4 machines and went through 5 belts last year. The rotor isn't hydraulic driven. CVT transmission. kgup.info/get/Y2R9k6fMZqaLeGo/video

    96. Dawson Richter

Yeah taking that blade off your chopper will throw it outta balance. Running it without the blade you can say goodbye to your barrings lol

    97. Every day life with me

Concentration levels in product you need nozzle flow monitors like larson farms put on there chemical tractor. ..map those spots in feields so next year you can add more to the areas. ..

    98. Eric Boudle

You might tight about PPE. I dont mess around with my sickle sections with out wearing heavy leather gloves. Our fingers are not stronger than steel...

    99. Every day life with me

That made peace priceless..The one at dealership three zero's at the end I'm sure..

    100. Alan Stant

Thats funny with trying to get your doggie to notice that rabbit. The one i know there is always something do and donts and must haves on a farm
